Laykin Williamson
Arkansas FFA State Secretary 2022-2023
Hometown: Clarksville, AR
Briefly describe your role:
I help develop members to be leaders and advocates for the agriculture industry.
Q: What's your favorite part of your position?
A: Getting to meet new people and see how much our members grow as leaders through the year!
Q: What motivates you to achieve success in your FFA career?
A: I am motivated by my ability to make a difference in the lives of others.
Q: What led you to take on this position?
A: My sister’s involvement in FFA and how much it developed her and gave her a place to feel at home.
Q: What has been a defining moment in your role as Arkansas State FFA Secretary?
A: The moment when I started to see all our members develop in the chapters, and when you talk to them they tell you about all the goals they accomplished.
Q: What opportunities for growth do you think women have in FFA?
A: Women have so many ways to grow in the agriculture industry as we get away further and further away from the stereotype of ag being only for men. More and more women are becoming welders which is typically a male-dominated industry, but because of FFA and ag classes, we are seeing more women become successful in this area.
Q: Who has influenced your FFA career?
A: My sister has always been an inspiration to me in first-generation agriculture.
